What I Do

Residential Electrical, Permitted and Inspected

I handle residential electrical across Western North Carolina, from a quick service call to wiring a house from scratch.

New Construction Electrical

I wire new homes from rough-in to final fixtures, inspected and ready for your certificate of occupancy.

Service & Panel Upgrades

Older WNC homes outgrow their panels. I'll move you up to a 200-amp service so your heat pump and EV charger both have room to run.

Generator Installation

When the power drops in the mountains, your standby generator should pick it up on its own. I install the unit, the transfer switch, and the load management to make that happen.

Heat Pump & HVAC Electrical

Your HVAC crew needs power waiting at the unit. I run the dedicated circuits and disconnects for heat pumps and mini-splits so install day goes smooth.

Remodel & Renovation Electrical

Kitchen and bath remodels live or die on the electrical behind the walls. I handle the full scope, from new circuits to the last switch plate.

Basement & Suite Finishing

Turning a basement into a suite or an ADU means real wiring, not extension cords. I rough it in and finish it to code, ready for inspection.

Residential Electrical Repairs

Dead outlet, a breaker that keeps tripping, a light that won't quit flickering? I track down the problem and fix it right.

About

One licensed electrician, start to finish.

Wes Tout — Owner, 828 Electrical Services LLC

I started 828 Electrical in 2024. Last spring I wired a new house on Tunnel Road in Asheville, rough-in to final. Another week it's a tired 100-amp panel swapped out for 200-amp service across town. The work runs from a single failing outlet to a new home worth around $350,000 to build. That spread is what separates a real licensed electrician from a handyman with a voltage tester.

I'm licensed through the state board, number L.37580. Apparently that puts me in the top 13% of contractors in North Carolina. I don't lead with that, though.

Most of my work comes by word of mouth. Someone has me out once, and the next time they need an electrician they don't shop around. They just hand my number to whoever's building or fixing a house next.

I'm based in Sylva and work the full WNC corridor: Jackson County, Asheville and Buncombe, Weaverville, Fairview, Hendersonville, Arden, and Black Mountain.

Both. I take everything from a single dead outlet to wiring a whole new home.

I come out, look at the actual job, and give you a number before any work begins. No surprises on the invoice.

Yes. I pull the permit myself and stay on the job through inspection, so the work is documented and signed off.

It depends on what's on the calendar, so call or text and I'll get you on the schedule. Emergencies move to the front of the line.
